Studio Red is an arts facility within Redcliffe High School that hosts practising contemporary visual artists.
Our facilities include self-contained art studio spaces with secured storage and wet areas. Studio Red also contains an exhibiting space that allows for afterhours workshops.
We invite Artists to join our semester long artist-in-residence studio based program. Our program enables artists to continue their artistic practise in our art studio spaces, working within a school context and sharing their practise with dedicated students and teachers.
If you are an Artist and would like to be part of this dynamic and innovative program please complete the application form (PDF, 274KB) and return it to us, for your information we have included endorsements from previous AIRs.

My residency at Studio Red in 2003 was a pivotal time for me as an artist. During this quality time I produced a large body of work titled It’s Child’s Play consisting of flags from various countries which were silkscreened on fabric and upholstered on small children’s chairs. This body of work was selected to tour state-wide as part of the Queensland Arts Council Touring Exhibition during 2004–2006 and could not have been possible without the opportunity to be an artist in residence at Studio Red. The facilities were excellent and the opportunity to interact with other artists and the students during this time was invaluable. I could not recommend this experience more highly.

Red Hot Fibre has a long standing relationship with Studio Red since its development ten years ago. We have held a range of workshops and exhibitions there for students, staff and members of the community. The most significant recent workshop held by Red Hot Fibre was for the production of shibori and cast paper globe sculptures as part of the Hays Inlet Festival 2010. This highly successful series of workshops would not easily have been possible without a facility such as Studio Red.
