Host Families Still Needed for Our Sanyo-Onoda Exchange Students
We’ve had a fantastic response to our call for host families, with three applications already received. Thank you to everyone who has expressed interest in supporting our Sanyo-Onoda Sister School Exchange.
We are still looking for host families for three students – two boys and one girl – who will be visiting Redcliffe State High School from 30 July to 8 August 2026.
Meet Our Visiting Students
Terumasa – 14 years old
Terumasa enjoys listening to music, playing the electric bass guitar and learning English. He loves chocolate and udon and is excited to share his favourite songs, anime and games with his host family.
“I want to learn about English and cultures, so I want to talk a lot with you. Also, I want to introduce my favourite songs, anime and games. I’m looking forward to meeting you.”
Risa – 14 years old
Risa enjoys reading, anime and tennis, and her favourite food is noodles. This will be her first time travelling overseas.
“This will be my first time travelling abroad, so I’m a little nervous, but also very excited. I’m looking forward to meeting you!”
Junnosuke – 13 years old
Junnosuke enjoys cooking, games and sport. His favourite foods include sweets, karaage and Coca-Cola, and he also loves manga and shopping.
His family shares:
“Thank you for welcoming our son! He loves sports, manga and shopping. He also likes cooking. Please take care of him. Thank you!”
Become a Host Family
You don’t need to speak Japanese to host – all that’s required is a welcoming home and a willingness to share your family’s everyday life and Australian culture. Hosting is a rewarding opportunity to build lifelong friendships and be part of an enriching cultural exchange.
As all host families require Blue Card processing, we are hoping to finalise placements by the end of next week.
If you’re interested in becoming a host family, please complete the Host Family Application Form below as soon as possible.

Thank you for supporting this valuable partnership and helping us give our visitors an unforgettable Australian experience.
