Public speaking
Selected Year 11 and 12 students are invited to speak in the annual BallyCara Inter-College Public Speaking Competition. This event provides an occasion for students to speak publicly in a competitive context and is a valuable opportunity for interaction between the older and younger members of our community.
Debating
Debating provides students with the opportunity to develop confidence and competence in formal public speaking situations whilst working collaboratively in a safe team environment. Through debating, students learn to refine their research skills; argue logically and consider world issues from an alternate point of view.
Each year, Redcliffe State High School participates in the Queensland Debating Union (QDU) Competition. Both experienced and new debaters are welcome to join.
