Tuckshop

Schools have an important role in promoting healthy eating and physical activity to students and providing an environment that supports a healthy lifestyle. A healthy diet can improve behaviours critical to educational success and performance at school. Effective school-based nutrition and health interventions can also help improve academic performance.

Tuckshops are an important part of the school environment; they can model healthy food and drink choices that are tasty, interesting and affordable, and provide the means to put into practice nutrition messages taught in the classroom.

In the Redcliffe High Tuckshop, we have an extensive menu based around the Queensland Health/ Education Queensland “Smart Choices” Healthy Food and Drink supply strategy, with lots of variety to choose from on a daily basis. Choices include a selection of freshly made salads, sandwiches and wraps as well as soup and hot food in the winter term, all at very reasonable prices!

The Tuckshop caters for students on Gluten Free diets and we try to ensure (to the best of our knowledge) that we do not have nuts in our menu items or in our merchandise.

Although we have a set menu, we encourage students to order their lunch to avoid disappointment and we are always open to suggestions for new menu items or for changes to the menu.

All the staff in the Redcliffe High Tuckshop pride themselves on producing good quality, healthy food for our students, staff and visitors.
